Hi, I’m Miranda! Thank you for being here — my goal is to do thoughtful work and share what I learn along the way.
An overview of my professional career in environmental engineering, including technical work and education.
A selection of public-facing leadership, community engagement, and speaking opportunities I’ve been part of.
Stilettos & Steel Toes is a space for writing about leadership, identity, and navigating environments that don’t always make room for your full self. It’s shaped by my experiences in engineering, community work, and public-facing leadership, but it isn’t about any one role or title.
This blog exists because I don’t believe you should have to change who you are to thrive in a space that wasn’t built for you. Here, I write about finding alignment between strength and softness, credibility and care, and what it looks like to show up thoughtfully in demanding places.
Some pieces are reflective, others more grounded in professional experience, but all are rooted in the idea that you can build trust, lead well, and do meaningful work without leaving parts of yourself behind.
Whether you wear steel toes, stilettos, sneakers, or slides — I’m glad you’re here!
